never Happier

For this durational work the artist sits on the floor, wearing a long, elegant, black dress. In the beginning the dress is spread out in a circle around the artist as she is holding a big bunch of colourful helium balloons. Audience members come up to her, take a balloon out of her hand and attached it to the hem of her dress, slowly causing it to lift, until Lakmaier's face is obscured and her legs and underwear are exposed.

Never Happier, is a performance that developed out of Lakmaier's R&D research for Cherophobia. It was performed at Fierce Festival during an Unlimited Salon event.
